Rugged Exterior Additions
Featuring XRT- exclusive front and rear bumpers adorned with digital camouflage cladding, it's obvious that the XRT is built for adventure. Additionally, the XRT trim includes black side sills, mirror caps, and window surrounds, further emphasizing its tough looks.
To complement its adventurous aesthetic, the XRT rides on unique black 18-inch wheels equipped with 235/60 R18 all-terrain tires, tackling rough terrain and inclement weather with ease. The XRT’s suspension has also been lifted by 23mm (o.9 inches), providing an approach angle of 19.8 degrees—significantly improved from the non-XRT model’s 17.5 degrees. The departure angle has also been increased to 30.0 degrees from 25.4 degrees, allowing for better maneuverability over uneven landscapes.
Performance and Capability
Under the hood, or chassis, in this case, the IONIQ 5 XRT is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) system paired with an 84 kWh battery, the larger of the two battery options available for the 2025 IONIQ 5 model year. This setup not only delivers robust performance but also amps up the XRT's range, making it suitable for longer trips away from charging stations. While Hyundai has not disclosed specific horsepower figures for the XRT, it’s likely similar to the previous dual-motor models, which delivered 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque.
Additionally, the XRT trim includes red-painted front tow hooks, and is capable of pulling up to 5,834 pounds. A significant upgrade from the standard IONIQ 5's 2,300 lb towing capacity.
Interior Changes and XRT-Styling
Charging Flexibility with NACS
One of the most standout updates for the 2025 IONIQ 5 models, including the XRT trim, is the inclusion of the Tesla North American Charging Standard (NACS) port. This feature opens up access to over 17,000 Tesla Supercharger stations across the country, doubling the fast-charging options available to IONIQ 5 owners. Additionally, Hyundai provides a Combined Charging System (CCS) adapter, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of charging stations. Will the IONIQ 5 XRT Be Eligible for the Federal EV Tax Credit?
The 2025 IONIQ 5 XRT will be among the first vehicles produced at Hyundai's new manufacturing facility in Georgia, which not only supports local jobs but also qualifies the vehicle for a $3,750 federal tax credit. Additionally, Hyundai anticipates that future models may qualify for further incentives, making the XRT an even more attractive option for buyers looking to maximize value.Interested in the 2025 IONIQ 5 XRT?
